Around the world in 81 days

We are off pottering again! Without Beatrix this time, but still motorhoming during our circumnavigation:

Bury St Edmunds - Hong Kong - Auckland, motorhome around New Zealand finishing in Christchurch - Sydney - Uluru/Ayers Rock - Cairns, then motorhome down the East coast of Australia to Sydney - Rarotonga (one of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific) - Los Angeles - Bury St Edmunds.

It's nearly Phileas Fogg - and it's going to be an adventure! I can say that now that the panic of packing is over - I've managed to over complicate things, as usual, and ended up re-packing mine and Jemima's bag four times... I eventually accepted I had to leave behind some of my motorhome favourites (the collapsible bowl, the microfibre towels, the blender - the bags just weren't closing); but we are well-kitted out with tiny books and games, sticker books, and technology (as well as two phones and a kindle, we also have an iPad, a DVD player, a Leapfrog, an MP3 player with Jemima's story tapes on, plus a separate speaker, a Gro Clock, a nightlight, and battery alarm clock, for when the Gro Clock can't be plugged in). This reflects my two priorities: keeping Jemima entertained while travelling; and trying to make sure she (and therefore we) all sleep well.

I relaxed the moment we got in the taxi though. By then, there is nothing more that can be done. And as Kevin says, we will be able to buy things if we need them (e.g. my beloved collapsible bowl). And we are now in the airport, checked in, waiting for the off. The adventure has really begun!
