A life admin interlude

The week ended with two days of home stuff, and our first overcast days. Thursday included car washing and a haircut for Kevin; and coaching revision, grant applications for Jemima's old Pre-School, and washing for me. We rewarded ourselves with the best menú del dia yet - arroz "a banda" (at Chameli's, of course): basically a paella, but made with fish stock and squid - delicious. After school Jemima tried a local ballet class, which she seemed to enjoy, but maybe not enough to return - we'll see.

Then Friday was more of the same: a trip to Aldi (I'm systematically trying out all the different local supermarkets); followed by lunch at home (a very nice Jamie tuna and butter bean salad); a quiet afternoon (I was having a grumpy episode - it does happen, even in the sunshine); and dinner in. We had thought we might go into Palma, as it was the fiesta for the city's patron saint, St Sebastian. But Jemima was just too tired (it didn't start until 7pm), so we left it. Another time - hopefully we'll be back.

My big news of the day: I was invited onto the Reception 2 Mums' WhatsApp group, woohoo - although it was because of a headlice problem in the class, so all of Reception 2 is de-lousing Mallorcan nits weekend - some experiences are universal it seems... But the upside is we have been invited via the WhatsApp to the 5th birthday party of some twins in Jemima's class (Blanca and Eric, whose mum Rocio speaks perfect English and has been the friendliest so far).

And that was it - back on top of the life admin, ready for the weekend.
