Sharing the delights of our temporary home

You can tell Portals Nous is a small place - Kevin and I unexpectedly bumped into my parents twice in one day.

They had come with me to take Jemima to school in the morning, which everyone enjoyed. (They met Guy, were shown the ant farm, and generally introduced to life at King Richard III College.) Then we parted company - the plan was they'd spend the day doing their own thing and we'd meet up later.

I went back to the flat, did my coaching work, then Kevin and I set off for our run, as usual. As we were approaching the sea wall, we saw a couple ahead - and lo and behold, it was mum and dad, on a little explore. We ran past, finishing our training schedule; then walked back with them along the sea wall and into Portals Nous for a coffee at Chameli's, strongly recommending they return for the menú del día.

They took our advice. As we drove back from a supermarket trip, before our lunch visit, we passed them leaving. "Absolutely brilliant" said dad. (As Kevin had suspected, he was won over both by the quality of the food, and by the quality of the bargain.)

We reunited at the school gate, and then they came back to the flat with us for a little post-school play with a slightly tired Jemima. Afterwards we said our goodbyes for now - tomorrow Kevin and I are showing them some of our Mallorcan highlights.
