"Seaside please"

This morning, Kevin's arm on the mend, we decided to move on. The question was, to where? We have about 5 days before we need to start heading north, and home: more coast, or more city sightseeing? We decided to let Jemima choose. So we were off to the Costa del Sol.

After a morning of maintenance and washing, then lunch, we headed off to what sounded like a great Jemima-friendly beach about 2 hours away, just west of Marbella - Kevin driving carefully to avoid hurting his arm. It was olive groves in straggly rows as far as the eyes could see, spread in patches on the undulating landscape. The sun was shining through my window and I couldn't help dozing in it, like a cat, waking with a jump every 10 minutes to check he was ok.

When we got there, it was a slightly hairy steep and narrow (and slightly illegal) drive to the actual beach, and a lovely cup of tea with a sea view (one of my favourite aspects of motorhome life); and then we had an equally hairy drive out, fording a rocky stream. But we soon found our home for the night in the car park a short drive away at the pretty marina; then a little stroll, and we were at a friendly Indian restaurant and a good dinner - Jemima thoroughly enjoyed her popadoms and chicken tikka, and the fish pond inside with plaster egrets was a bonus. Then playing with the torches on the way home to bed, before our beach day tomorrow. It's significantly warmer here than in Granada (which is quite high altitude), so maybe we've staved off the winter for a little bit longer.

We didn't take many photos today, but here is Jemima enjoying dinner:
